I recently stumbled on Javan Ivey‘s work; he is an animator who studied at Pratt Institute Brooklyn, NY and created one of the most mesmerizing students films I have ever seen titled ‘My Paper Mind’. This animation is so unique that Ivey created a new technique which he called ‘Stratastencil’ strongly influenced by the Stratacut technique. His technique directly influenced the recent advert for Scott Naturals.

What Ivey lacks in body of work he definitely covers in beauty. Below is a recent music video he did for Sleeping at Last. It’s well paced, with great depth and vivid colours. I absolutely love the movement of the forest animals, and the floating body in the pool near to the end.
